Moved by Alex’s
will, I created this
fresh-squeezed,
organic lemoninfused
truffle with
the hopes of
making more
change for Alex’s
Lemonade Stand.
I’m thrilled to be
able to support
sustainable farmers
in Ecuador who are
using the canopy
of the rainforest to
grow shade cocoa.

I believe that we get one chance to dance on this earth, and
I am moved by those who see a need in the world and find a
way to fill it. The Painted Truffle supports the work of good
people pursuing their passion to make a difference. Stay
tuned for more of a change.

I remember as a child gathering a pitcher of water, ice, sugar,
and lemons for a lemonade stand to make a little extra
change. For Alexandra "Alex" Scott (1996-2004), making
lemonade became her legacy. She was diagnosed in 1998 at
the age of two with neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood
cancer. At the age of four she decided to raise money to find
a cure by setting up her front-yard lemonade stand. Alex
sadly lost her struggle with cancer at the age of 8, on August
1, 2004, but her life and her life’s work continue to inspire
people of all ages to squeeze lemons to make a change. In
fact, more than $25 million has been raised towards fulfilling
her dream of finding a cure for all children with cancer. The
Painted Truffle supports Alex’s Lemonade Stand Fund. For

The mission of the Rainforest Alliance is to protect
ecosystems and the people and wildlife that depend on them
by transforming land-use practices, business practices, and
consumer behavior. The truffle, “Walk in The Rainforest,” was
created to not only honor the extremely hard work these
farmers undertake to bring us the luxury of chocolate, but to
increase awareness that we need to respect and walk in
unison with our environment. For more information, visit www.rainforestalliance.com
